Who Am I?
According to God’s Word, I am a child of God.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” – 1 John 3:1
I have been chosen as God’s special treasure.
He brought me out of darkness into His glorious light.
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” – 1 Peter 2:9
This identity was only made possible through the shedding of blood.
When Jesus died on the cross, His blood washed away my sin—past, present, and future.
Because of the blood, God no longer sees my sin.
He sees a beloved son or daughter.
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” – Psalm 103:12 (NIV)
Instead of shame, He gave me honor and authority.
“God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” – Ephesians 2:6–7 (ESV)
This is who I am—not because of anything I’ve done, but because of everything Christ has done.
I am loved. I am chosen. I am redeemed. I am His.
