Wouldn’t it be great if that were possible? Well, I have good news for you – it is possible! It’s difficult not to get caught up in the things that are happening around you. For me, it seemed as though I was being pushed, against my will, into a certain life. All these things were, and still are, happening in the world causing me fear. We must consider the environment we are living in. Is it toxic? Am I conforming to the rules of society?  Am I settling for less just to keep the peace? Perhaps you are grieving loved ones and just can’t seem to let go. Maybe you want a child and have been told you cannot. Maybe you have suffered trauma in your life.

It’s more difficult, however, we must also consider those things that are not tangible – YOU! What is going on inside of you? Are you stressed? Depressed? Feeling overwhelmed? Are you feeling less than, with thoughts of never measuring up? How about the would’ve, could’ve, should’ve?

Valerie is a social worker and mitigation investigator for the Federal Public
Defender of the Central District of Illinois. At home, work, or church, Valerie
is advocating the preservation of humanity and dignity of human life amidst
life-changing circumstances. She would love the chance to hear your life
history and encourage you with the truth about who you are and your
purpose in life.

My failure was that I didn’t recognize I wasn’t living my life – the one I wanted from since I was young. I decided to fight for my life. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it! I heard someone say, “Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship.” However, equipped with the proper tools and knowledge, you will be able to take back control of your life for the well-being of yourself and those around you. Things we think and feel:
